Roger Peterson

Roger is a former Christian and Missionary Alliance (CMA) Pastor.  He and his wife, Terri, started a new CMA church in The Dalles, Oregon, and pastored the Springhill Alliance Church here in Albany. After the CMA closed that church, they came to Valley Christian Center and immediately fell in love with the people.

In 1976, when God captured his attention and drew him from his wild, destructive lifestyle, Roger became so hungry to know Jesus that he read through the Bible four times (along with 50 other books about living the Christian life). This led him to enroll in Bible college, which he completed in three years instead of four.  Roger brings this knowledge of and passion for the Scriptures to share with us here at VCC. On February 15, 2011, Roger received his Foursquare Pastor’s License.

Married for thirty-seven years, Roger and Terri have two adopted sons and a daughter, along with thirteen grandchildren.  Roger is a woodworker, and also likes cooking (which he has done for our Wednesday night meals), gardening, reading, and traveling.  He greatly enjoys fixing, repairing, and reclaiming old broken stuff.

Roger says, “I am pressing-in hard to lay hold of that for which Christ laid hold of me. I am greatly encouraged in Christ that fruitful days of awakening are upon us. My prayer is for every soul who comes to VCC to know their great worth and value to us and to the Lord, and that together, we might all grow-up into all the fullness of Christ.”
