Take Courage

Do you ever feel like the happy ending of your story is a million miles away?

Then you know how the Jewish people felt when they returned to their wrecked land after exile and began rebuilding the temple. They were distracted, discouraged, and ready to throw in the towel. But the prophet Haggai reminded them they could find courage in the God who had never left them.

Sometimes the landscapes of our lives feel wrecked, with our hope and purpose in shambles. We too get distracted and discouraged. However, God’s presence and promises give us courage to press on and trust Him with our story.

In this 7-session study by Jennifer Rothschild on the Book of Haggai, learn to walk confidently in your calling, stay motivated despite opposition, and courageously invest your life in God’s purposes, trusting Him for results you may never see in this lifetime.

VCC will be hosting the study on Tuesdays, beginning September 29th, from 10:30 am to 12 pm in the Lobby. Click here to sign up on the Mid-Valley Women of Christ website. An optional workbook will be available for $15. No childcare.

Women’s Retreat – Come Be…

Jesus is saying, “Come be with Me!”

He has plans for us, and He has been painting such a beautiful picture for His Bride (us!) for this retreat time.

This retreat will be different in that it is designed to make space for each of us to experience God individually. It will be a time of rest, contemplation, and release of freedom through being with Him—giving Him a place to show us who He is and who He says each of us is.

VCC is the new venue. The dates and times are Friday, October 2nd, 6-9 pm, and Saturday, October 3rd, 9:30 am-4:30 pm. Lunch is included on Saturday. There is no cost to attend. We won’t be able to host an over-night, but women can choose to slumber party elsewhere–you can get creative with your night!

Click here to sign up for the retreat.

Space is limited to 75 ladies, so be sure to signup soon. Since there is a cap on the number of attendees, if you are unable to attend, please, cancel your registration. You can also email the Church Office at office@vccalbany.com to let them know, so they can take care of it.

I want you woven into a tapestry of love, in touch with everything there is to know of God. Then you will have minds confident and at rest, focused on Christ, God’s great mystery. Colossians 2:2 MSG

Jesus says, “You are my poetry… my words are weaving you into a tapestry of love.”

“Poetry is written about beauty and life. It’s personal. You don’t write about what doesn’t move you.” ~ Steph

1. ARISE – Who are You, Jesus? Where do You want me to go, Jesus?
2. ARISE – Living available to God’s voice. That means we listen.
3. ARISE – Jesus, what are You doing right now? What are Your thoughts regarding this?
4. ARISE – Every small step of obedience grows and often leads to great breakthrough.

Your Marching Orders… I am called to speak! I am being sent! You are leading me to set the captives free by your power, Jesus! Amen!

Every Tuesday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm (PST), Lee will be available to pray—either on the phone or by Zoom—with people suffering from COVID-19. To arrange an appointment for prayer, please call Pastor Maria Inés Garzón at 210-901-8870.
