May 3, 2026: God's Heart for the Church: For Men and Women

May 3, 2026    Nicole Cade

In yesterday’s teaching Pastor Nicole walked us back into Genesis to re‑examine what God intended for men and women from the very beginning. We saw that humanity—male and female together—was created in God’s image and given the same shared calling to steward the earth. Rather than establishing hierarchy, the creation narrative reveals mutuality: Eve is described with the Hebrew word ezer, a term most often used of God Himself as a strong helper who supplies what is lacking. Adam being formed first highlights his incompleteness, not his authority, and “she shall be called ishah” emphasizes similarity, not subordination. Throughout Scripture, and affirmed again in 1 Corinthians 11, men and women are shown to be interdependent, each drawing life from God and designed to complete, not control, one another. The message invited us to let Scripture, not culture, shape our understanding of God’s heart for full partnership between men and women in His church.
