Mending Coaching + Pastoral Care

Care - Mend - Thrive

“The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”

Isaiah 58:11

Brian Coons, AACC Certified
Mending Coach
The mending coaching & pastoral care ministry at VCC is focused on helping people unlock their God-enabled strengths and build skills that replace ineffective or unhealthy coping mechanisms. We are passionate about helping individuals, families, and couples discover the keys to accomplishing goals, being kind to themselves, and thriving. Mending Coach, Brian Coons, knows that there can be a stigma around the phrase "mental health." He believes there is nothing more effective in a person’s life than right-thinking.

God has equipped each of us with strengths and skills that are designed to help us make good choices, make decisions from informed perspectives, and decide to choose a relationship with Him. The way we think about ourselves, others and God are affected by the dynamics that exist within family and societal structures and relationships. In other words, we encounter circumstances and events that get in the way. The result can be trauma, depression, confusion, being stuck, fear, sadness, and a host of other outcomes that can keep us from living the truth of our identity.
