March 9, 2025: Take Them and Learn to Run 9.0
Pastor Nicole shared from Galatians 6:1-4 about how we are to share each other's burdens and help one another but that ultimately, we are responsible for our own conduct and should not compare ourselves to anyone else.
She warned us of two ditches that we can fall into when trying to help others with their burdens. One is that we TAKE ON the other person's burden rather than walking alongside them. The other is that we completely ignore the burden of others thinking "It's none of our business" and avoid helping them.
We are all called to walk alongside others and allow others to walk alongside of us.
As we do this, we see a growing, connected, relationally accountable body of Christ that moves toward healing and mending so that we are fitted together as the body of Christ.
Pastor Nicole goes on to show that even though we are called to help one another, at the end of the day we are each responsible for our own acts and burdens. Running the race well calls for each one of us to do the work in our own lives towards mending and equipping alongside each other where we are mutually walking alongside of others.
It is those who are willing to stay within community, willing to walk alongside others and let them walk alongside of us that brings tremendous growth. Where we get to actually be the church we want to attend!
